Travel Bursary available

Does anyone know of a potter in Cornwall that would like the chance to undertake a pottery-related research trip outside of Cornwall and receive an £800 grant to help them? The Leach Pottery has a Travel Bursary available for this very purpose: https://www.leachpottery.com/travel-bursary-for-potters/

Please forward this to any potters you feel may benefit from the bursary: the deadline for applications is 15 December 2017.

SUE GORDON

We are sad to announce that our long standing CCGG member, Sue Gordon, recently passed away.
She had been unwell for some-time and had being staying with her sister in Sussex whilst undergoing cancer treatment.
There will be an ashes scattering ceremony in Cornwall in the spring.
You may not have known Sue but as an active member of the CCGG she will be missed, but remembered through her vibrant work.

CCGG Annual Raku Kiln Day

Another highly successful and social day of decorating and firing Raku ware in the CCGG wood fired kiln at Nina Ducker's place in Feock. The weather was fine and the results were pleasing especially for those who have never fired Raku before. Alongside the Raku firing we made a pit firing and some spectacular results came out a week later. Always unexpected but always great fun. Thanks to Nina, Rod, Lynn , John and all who help make this an excellent CCGG day. We made a lot, learned a lot, ate a lot and and took home some memorable pots.
