Carolyn Genders

Sources of Inspiration’ Workshop
by Carolyn Genders
Saturday 28th April, 10am - 4pm 2007
At Rock Institute Hall, Rock near Wadebridge

There are times when, as an artist, you struggle for inspiration.
Carolyn Genders author of ‘Sources of Inspiration for Ceramics and the applied arts’ has been invited to give a workshop on ideas that will spark the creative imagination. As a professional ceramist for over 20 years and a fellow of the Craft Potters Association, she has over this time, amassed an eclectic collection of photographic images which, along with her sketchbooks form the basis from which she draws inspiration for her ceramics. She will describe how images can be visually abstracted and developed to create other beautiful patterns, designs and forms, suitable for ceramicists, glassmakers and artists alike.
The talk and slideshow will be followed by a visit to the nearby beach at Porthilly and practical participation for members. There will be an end of workshop discussion.
Please bring sketchbooks, drawing and painting implements, cameras and anything from which you draw inspiration and ideas.
Rock is found on OS Landranger map series no.200, grid ref: sw933757
The Hall which has a large car park, is to be found 2/3 of the way down through Rock.
Pass filling station, houses, restaurant, estate agent and shop set back on left then long right hand bend, slow down as the hall entrance is on right.
Please bring a packed lunch for picnicking on the beach (weather permitting) or there are local pubs and cafĂ©’s within a few minutes drive of the hall.

Cost to members £14 non members £18
