Paying honest attention - Anne Mette Hjortshoj

Anne Mette lives and works on the Danish island of Bornholm in the Baltic sea. This documentary gives a gentle and revealing insight into one of Denmark’s leading potters. It follows her daily life, collecting clay from her local beach for her glazes, throwing and making pots in her studio. She talks of her influences and inspiration taken from the nature of the island.

A short film showing Svend Bayer potting and firing his anagama kiln. He discusses his working methods and the importance of wood firing to his work.

Bullseye Glass invited nine glass artists into it’s factory to work with new materials.
From this process came Connections, eight remarkable projects that link the mixing barrel, the furnace, the kiln, the artist’s hand, the studio and the gallery. The pieces that result illuminate the permanence and immediacy of glass art.

Glass makers of Heart

In 1968 a one room working glass factory with a mud brick furnace was discovered in Western Afghanistan. Glass making had been carried out on this site by the same family for more than 200 years using methods described in 7th Century Assyrian cuneiform tablets.

Playing with Fire, the movie. - Paul Soldner

Donned the ‘Father of American Raku’ Paul Soldner made countless contributions to the ceramics world. This film explores the life and art of a revolutionary artist who helped turn a three thousand year old craft into an accepted form of Fine Art.
Artists and non-artists alike, walk away from this film feeling like they have just touched upon their creative potential and that they too can do whatever they set their minds upon.
