East London Design Show?

The Committee are considering whether to book a stall at the East London Design Show in Shoreditch Town Hall in December 2007. This is a weekend event; it would be selected (by the organisers of the design show); it would require a commitment from members selected for the show to work a rota to man the stall and help with the setting up and taking down. There would also have to be a fee for entry (as yet we can't say how much).
I am seeking expressions of interest from members at this stage, to determine whether there's enough interest to pursue the idea further.

Mike Dodd's master-class

Mike gave an interesting talk and slideshow about his life and work this was followed by various demonstrations.
I had been curious how the glaze on the large pot had been achieved. So for me the best part was the final demonstration when, whilst talking about not taking things too serious and allowing oneself time to play Mike very precisely, lovingly, and with total concentration added dry china-clay to a wet pot and then continued to throw the said pot one-handed into the desired shape.
Mike obviously takes his play very serious!
